Just a quick request at the end of another happily relaxing, slowish week. While there are many things I know I won't miss about American pop culture during my time here in Bulgaria, this story looks like it might be one of those things worth hearing more about.
Does anybody know about this "Jeopardy Guy?" Are there any other great stories about him that Simmons doesn't mention in the story? Is he still going strong or has he been booted? Watching Jeopardy while some cocky guy was running off an invicibility streak was always one of my great, guilty joys in life. I need info.
Posted by Rob at August 12, 2004 07:39 PMWe watched the first 20 wins, or so. That guy is smart across many categories. He said he use to write the questions for college bowl. Trebeck often made comments about how he planned to give a good portion of his winnings, or tithe to the Mormon church.
But each night, it was like watching a car race and waiting for the fastest car to loose, miss a turn, or run out of gas or.... But then, work and dog walking took precedence over watching, but according to 'Adam's' posted comments, he must have managed to keep on winning without us....Fun!
They finished the season with him still on his streak. He is a cocky bastard though. I think he trying to win it for all the geeks and people who were picked on in high school. He will continue in the fall.
